Regatta this weekend!

This weekend 9/19&9/20 is our annual Sailing Regatta!

For novice racers this is a great chance to participate in an informal and small scale sailing race weekend. Skippers meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday on the slope above the City Marina and first race starts at 11:00 a.m. Races will continue with no starts after 4 p.m. and we will start again at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. Register online on the sailchelan.com events page.

Sailors using Hunter 140s, most have been drained but may need a little clean up before sailing.

We do not have a dinner planned this year but everyone is welcome to come out to the Nutfarm in the evenings to socialize on the patio.

El Tora addition

We now have an El Toro added to the fleet! This boat is similar to the Opti and is ideal for young sailors single handing or for a couple of kids. Simple set up and easy to launch using our skiff dolly this is a nice addition to the fleet. The boat is on the rack outside the boatshed and the mast, blades and sails are inside.

Upcoming events

After the regatta this weekend we have an up lake weekend planned for the weekend of October 10. The destination will be weather dependent.

The Fall work party is slated for Sunday, October 18 at noon. Many hands always makes short work of things and we will do burgers at the Nutfarm afterwards. We will ask for rsvps in a later email.

Regatta help

We will need some help this weekend for the Regatta. One or Two on the Committee boat to help with the flags and finishes etc. Someone to help with registrations starting at 8:30 Saturday morning and greeters for Friday evening to supply parking passes.
