Would you like to teach sailing?

The free sailing lessons we provide for the public pays our rent for use of City property. To continue this program and to meet the high demand we need more instructors.

There are two ways to become an instructor with LCSA.

Complete level 1 instructor with US Sailing. Locations include Seattle, Bellingham and Anacortes but you must enroll soon as the courses fill quickly. LCSA will reimburse your tuition after you complete two seasons of teaching.

OR – Shadow classes this summer with one of our existing instructors.

Both methods require first aid/CPR and a Boater Education Card.

Please let us know if you are interested asap!

Boats for sale

We periodically sell boats that are not used enough and to make room in our limited space. Currently we have the following:

International 14 $600 This is a highly technical boat, older hull

Catalina 22 fixed keel, outboard not included $1,000

Ranger 16, $1,000. Great daysailer

Hobie Tandem Island, $3,000 Peddle, paddle or sail. Needs one of the pedal rigs replaced

Up lake docks

The LCSA board is drafting a letter to the Forest Service and elected officials to express concerns about the poor maintenance of the up-lake docks. The Domke Falls dock has been rebuilt but still has not been re-installed after two years. Refrigerator Harbor is severely damaged and unsafe for use. Mitchell Creek and Lucerne have damage that has gone without repair for several years. Safety Harbor still has not been replaced.

USFS receives funds from dock permits (which have doubled in price) and there is a total of $644,000 in dock maintenance funds available from the Chelan County PUD as part of the Chelan Dam relicensing agreement. Allowing the continued deterioration of the up lake docks is simply inexcusable.
