Up lake cruise

The up lake cruise starts Saturday, August 2! This is always a fun time camping out at the boat in campgrounds. The Catalina 22 is still available and waiting for someone to take her up lake.

Pro tip: If you play an instrument, bring it unless it is an accordian.

Please reply to this email if you are planning to join in so we can keep you looped in on the plans.

Monday night sailing

Jason has been at the boat shed every Monday night to help folks get things together for a sail. This Monday will be a breezy one! This is also the last Monday for the advanced class so the larger boats will be available going forward.

Boat work

We have a lot of things in the way of maintenance needing attention and we are compiling a list from easy stuff like sanding and oiling teak to reattaching cleats and much more. Please remember boat use requires 4 hours a year of time contribution.

Grant writing

We have an opportunity to apply for a grant to help with fleet maintenance but we need someone who can work on the application. It isn't real complicated but we need someone with the time and willingness to do it.

Regatta

Start making your plans now to sail in the Regatta September 13 & 14. Every club boat should be on the water for the event. We will have a racing clinic in August to get you geared up to win!

Secure the boats at their mooring properly

We have a challenging situation where our boats are docked with the steel I-beam pilings. Soon, the dock lines will be zip tied to the dock cleats to make sure the boats are consistently secured properly. Please note how the boats are secured before leaving the dock so you can attach lines at the same points upon return.

Up lake docks

Some of the up lake docks are in dangerous states of disrepair and some are completely missing. The LCSA Board has decided this has gone on too long and it is time to act. We will be forming a letter to the Forest Service and legislators seeking attention to the matter. USFS receives funds from dock passes and the PUD but we've heard nothing but excuses for too many years, we need to start pushing for improvement.

For sale or Free

Luders 21 https://www.youtube.com/@NateVeeSailing Nathan - 5093412300 This boat is pretty cool!

Coronado 15 - LCSA free - No mast, sails or boom, decent hull, not so decent trailer.

77 Sea Ray 22 - Russ 5098603616. Free. It was a great boat when I had it and isn't looking too bad now but it has cracks in the exhaust manifolds that will need to be welded or patched. On a good dual axle trailer.

Check the website

sailchelan.com has the latest happenings, be sure to check in regularly, like every 30 minutes or so for the latest local sailing news.

O.k., so every 30 minutes might be a bit much but we do try to keep folks informed about what is coming up.
